On July 27, 2023, Beiken once again received a letter of commendation from the Southwest oil and gas Field Development Department of Petrochina, once again praising the new record of drilling acceleration created by Beiken in LU 208H2A platform.
LU 208H2A platform, located in Group 11 Luohansi Village, Qingsheng Town, Rongchang District, Chongqing, is a development well platform deployed by petrochina Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company in Luzhou block, containing 6 deep shale gas Wells.
After the platform's two first completed Wells, Lu 208H2-3 and Lu 208H2-6, both set a number of records at the end of June this year, on July 24, the third completed well, Lu 208H2-2, was successfully drilled to a well depth of 5820 meters, once again setting the drilling cycle record in the well area in 51.67 days, and the drilling rate of the platinum target reached 100%.
Not only that, two days later, on July 26, the fourth completed drilling well of the platform, Lu208H2-4, rushed into the deep shale gas well drilling cycle of 50 days in 46.41 days, 23.59 days earlier than the designed acceleration cycle of 70 days, and the saving cycle reached 33.7%. This achievement not only renewed the record of the fastest drilling cycle of Lu 208 block, but also created the fastest record of deep shale gas drilling cycle of Southwest Oil and Gas Field Development Division.
It is understood that during the construction of the two Wells, it is the season of extreme high temperature and heavy rain in Chongqing, which is a great test for personnel and equipment, at the same time, the two Wells also encountered high temperatures above 150 degrees in the horizontal section, faults, box pressure anomalies and other underground complications.
In the face of difficulties, the deputy general project manager of engineering technology of Beiken resided at the site and took the lead. Under the correct guidance of the development Department, he fully absorbed the construction experience of the early completion of drilling, continuously optimized the mud performance, improved the use of cooling equipment, selected drill bits and screws, and optimized the selection of rotary guide instrument models. Finally, the goal of setting a new record based on the previous record was achieved.
