On July 24, 2023, the drilling commencement ceremony of B1 well Group of coalbed methane (2023) demonstration project in Midong Block was held in Midong District, Urumqi, Xinjiang. Wei Min, chairman of Urumqi Guosheng Huidong New Energy Co., LTD. (referred to as Guosheng Huidong), Wang Kunjian, general manager of Drilling and Completion Center of Zoomlion Company, and Li Ping, regional head of Xinjiang Region of Beken Energy, attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon.
Huang Shenghai, deputy general manager of Guosheng Huidong, said in his speech that the drilling of well group B1 marks the full start of the coal-bed methane demonstration project in Midong Block, which is of great significance to the solid and orderly promotion of the coal-bed methane capacity construction project in Midong block and the realization of the coal-bed methane capacity construction target of 100 million cubic meters/year in Midong block.
The B1 well group is located in Lusaogou Village, Midong District, Urumqi. It is planned to deploy 4 directional Wells with a depth of 1100 meters to 1300 meters. As the drilling party of the B1 well group, Beiken attaches great importance to this project, gathers the elite technical team, sets up the front-line production headquarters headed by the production deputy general manager, allocates the experienced operators, closely focuses on the target, reverses the schedule, pays close attention to the implementation, and ensures the safe and efficient progress of drilling construction. We will make full efforts to promote the early operation and effect of the coal-bed methane demonstration project in Midong Block with practical actions, and contribute to Xinjiang's efforts to build a national energy and resources strategic security base and achieve high-quality development.
