The largest coal-bed methane fracturing project in Xinjiang has begun

Cui Yumiao said in his speech that the Group plans to achieve 200 million square meters of coal bed methane capacity construction tasks in 2023 and 1.5 to 2 billion square meters in 2025; At the same time, through training teams, gathering talents, improving technology, strengthening research and development, pipeline network construction, extension and transformation, market cultivation, forming a complete industrial system for CBM development, and achieving the strategic goal of annual production capacity of 5 billion square meters by 2030.

He stressed that this fracturing project will lay a solid foundation for large-scale development and construction in the later stage, and promote the transformation of Xinjiang's CBM resource advantages into industrial advantages, hoping that all participating units will put safety production in the first place, orderly construction, and complete various tasks with quality and quantity, and strive to create a new situation of high-quality development of Yaxin CBM Group.

As the representative of the operator of this fracturing construction, Li Ping, general manager of Beiken Xinjiang Region, said in his speech that under the careful guidance of leaders and experts at all levels of Party A, the two sides have jointly and closely coordinated in the past project cooperation, and adopted innovative methods for the characteristics of Fukang coal seam, such as high steep and soft crushing, and created a number of construction records. And work together to overcome difficulties, jointly improve the construction technology, to solve a lot of site construction problems.

He said that Beiken attaches great importance to this operation, and will set up a project department to strengthen project management, advance command and fine control. Beiken will use superb technology, sophisticated equipment and elite team to ensure the safe and smooth progress of the project at the same time, under the scientific guidance of Party A, adopt new technology to pressure out high-yield Wells. The FK18-1L and FK18-2L Wells, located in Dahuangshan, Fukang, are two CBM horizontal Wells drilled by Beiken in 2022. The horizontal section of well FK18-1L is more than 940 meters long and will be divided into 10 stages, and the horizontal section of well FK18-2L is more than 570 meters long and will be divided into 7 stages.

Wang Yibing, head of the technology research institute of Yaxin Coal bed Methane Group, said that this is so far, Xinjiang to carry out the largest fracturing coal bed methane test well, which is a technological innovation test in Xinjiang, if the test proves that large-scale fracturing can greatly improve the production of a single well, then Yaxin coal bed methane Group will implement large-scale development in Dahuangshan.

Coalbed methane is an unconventional natural gas associated with coal mines. Xinjiang has 7.51 trillion cubic meters of coal-bed gas resources within a depth of 2,000 meters. Up to now, there are more than 350 coal-bed methane Wells of various types in Xinjiang, with an annual capacity of 210 million cubic meters/year and an annual gas output of about 80 million cubic meters in 2022.

This year, Yaxin CBM Group will deploy 144 Wells in the Fukang mining area, and plans to build 200 million cubic meters of annual production capacity in the southern margin of the Junggar Basin in 2023, and accumulate 1.5 to 2 billion cubic meters of annual production capacity in the whole Xinjiang in 2025.

Fukang coalbed methane mining area is located in the southern margin of Junggar Basin, which is an important rich area of coalbed methane resources. In 2017, the construction of coalbed gas industrialization base on the southern edge of Junggar Basin was included in the national "13th Five-Year Plan" for the development and utilization of Coalbed gas (Coal mine gas), and was included in the national "13th Five-Year Plan" pilot demonstration project for coal-bed gas development. Up to now, there are more than 280 coalbed methane Wells in the southern margin of Junggar Basin.
