BK Energy Explores New Opportunities with Indonesian Ministry of Industry

Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, held a significant meeting with the management team of Beiken Energy Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "BK Energy") during his visit in Shanghai. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on potential cooperation in areas such as Indonesia's oil and gas energy sector, as well as clean and efficient utilization of coal.

During the meeting, BK Energy presented its technological capabilities and business operations in oil and gas resource development, alongside clean and efficient coal utilization. Prior to this meeting, a delegation of technical experts from the Indonesian Ministry of Industry had conducted an on-site inspection and due diligence visit to relevant facilities.


Following the presentation, The Minister highly commended BK Energy for its advanced technology and extensive expertise in the sector. He emphasized that Indonesia is actively committed to extending the mineral resource industry chain to drive economic transformation and upgrading. The Minister noted that BK Energy's core competencies strongly align with Indonesia's national development strategy.


Furthermore, he expressed support for BK Energy's entry into the Indonesian market and looked forward to introducing the company's advanced technologies and management experience to contribute positively to the country's efficient and low-carbon energy development.



Indonesia, a founding member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and its largest economy, officially joined the BRICS group in 2025. The mining sector plays a crucial role in Indonesia’s economy, contributing more than 10% of the nation’s GDP. The country is rich in oil and gas resources, with government data indicating 1.31 billion tonnes of oil reserves (including 640 million tonnes of proven reserves) and 1 trillion cubic meters of natural gas reserves.Furthermore, Indonesia remains the worlds largest coal exporter, with 557 million tonnes exported in 2024.
