Editor's note:
The China Western International Fair (CWIF), initiated in 2000 under China's Western Development Strategy, is co-hosted by over ten national ministries and commissions including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, alongside the 12 western provinces (municipalities/regions) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. It is organized by the People's Government of Sichuan Province, with the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) as co-organizer and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as supporting unit.
After years of development, CWIF has become a crucial window and premier platform for opening-up in western China. It serves as a key national platform for investment promotion, trade cooperation, and diplomatic services in the region, as well as a significant conduit for cooperation within western China, between eastern and western China, and between China and foreign countries.
