Beiken Energy Outstanding Student Scholarship Empowers SWPU Students to Pursue Dreams in the New Era of Energy

On the afternoon of May 15, the 2023-2024 Academic Year Student Advanced Individuals (Collectives) and Scholarship Award Ceremony was grandly held at the Chengdu Campus of Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU). Nearly 300 attendees, including Zhang Liehui, Secretary of the SWPU Party Committee; Guo Jianchun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of SWPU; representatives from scholarship sponsors such as CNPC Southwest Oil & Gasfield Company and Beiken Energy Holding Group Co., Ltd.; along with university department leaders, faculty, and student representatives, gathered to witness this moment of honor.

The ceremony recognized 16 award categories, comprehensively showcasing the university’s outstanding achievements in talent cultivation. Among them, the Beiken Energy Outstanding Student Scholarship, as one of the socially donated awards, was presented by Vice President Li Yuanjun on behalf of the company to 12 award-winning student representatives.

Following the ceremony, Ge Ruixuan, a Class of 2023 undergraduate student majoring in Oil and Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering at the School of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, shared her journey of persevering through setbacks and striving for excellence as a representative recipient of the Bacon Energy Outstanding Student Scholarship.

Among the 20 students awarded the Beiken Energy Outstanding Student Scholarship this year, all senior undergraduates have been recommended for admission without entrance exams to pursue master’s degrees at prestigious institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sichuan University, and Xi’an Jiaotong University.

Established by Beiken Energy in September 2023, the Beiken Energy Outstanding Student Scholarship rewards academically excellent sophomores and above from the School of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, School of Geoscience and Technology, School of Mechatronic Engineering, and School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, with each recipient receiving RMB 10,000.

The establishment of this scholarship not only reflects Beiken Energy’s active fulfillment of social responsibilities but also builds a vital platform for university-enterprise collaboration in cultivating energy talents, empowering students to embark on new journeys in the energy sector.
