At 8 am on May 27, 2023, the four-way well ZU201H8-6 in Yuxi Block of Southwest Oil and Gas Field, which was drilled by Beiken, was successfully drilled. The drilling depth was 6610 meters, the average mechanical drilling rate was 9.46 meters/hour, and the drilling cycle was 87 days, which was 3 days ahead of the design cycle and set a new record for the drilling cycle of ZU201 block. At the same time, the well took only 15.6 days to drill 2338 meters, creating a new record of 20 days to drill the second deep well structure in the west Chongqing block.
In the process of drilling, the well has overcome complex conditions such as poor formation drillability, long open hole section of large hole, difficult orientation, directional pressure support and easy leakage of gypsum layer in Jialingjiang Formation. Under the guidance of the owner, Beiken has focused on engineering technology planning, production organization management, drilling process optimization, and other aspects to efficiently deal with underground complexities, promote the overall speed up of drilling work, and actively implement the new requirements of Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company for the 2023 deep shale gas drilling cycle index.
The early completion of well ZU 201H8-6 provides an empirical reference for the prevention and treatment of other Wells in the same block and the acceleration of drilling speed in the later stage, and lays a solid engineering and technical foundation for the owner to complete the production capacity construction target.
