Three new drilling indexes were updated in the old block of Xinjiang oilfield

On April 18, 2023, the first project management Department of Xinjiang Oilfield Development Company sent a congratulatory letter to Beiken Energy, expressing warm congratulations on the three construction indicators in the block where the HW1133 well of Beiken was drilled.

With the full support of client, the well completed a single trip in the three-open horizontal section construction, with a single bit penetration of 1114 meters and an average ROP of 10.12 meters/hour, which broke the record of the highest ROP in the block in 2023. It only took 5.91 days to drill the horizontal section, breaking the record of the shortest drilling period in the horizontal section. At the same time, the horizontal section of the well was drilled, and the daily footage exceeded 200 meters for three consecutive days, refreshing the highest daily footage record for three consecutive days in the block.

HW1133 is a carboniferous horizontal well in the first area of Xinjiang Oilfield. As an old oil area, the first area has a mining history of more than ten years. The surrounding old Wells are densely distributed and the long-term injection and production development results in disordered original formation pressure and poor drillability of the target carboniferous formation, which face great well control and engineering risks during construction, seriously restricting the drilling speed and efficiency.

In the process of three-way horizontal drilling, in view of the difficulties such as poor drillability of carboniferous system, low roP and severe bit wear in the target layer, Beiken Energy purchased speed raising tools at its own expense, optimized the drilling assembly to strengthen construction parameters, selected PDC bit models, reduced the number of directional and trip times in the horizontal section, and increased the combined drilling interval and the stroke of a single bit. Completion risks are reduced and speed increases are achieved safely and efficiently.

The safe and efficient completion of well HW1133 has accumulated valuable experience for accelerating subsequent drilling in the first area of Xinjiang oilfield.
